The Unicel C-9699 is a pleated polyester cartridge filter element engineered for the Jacuzzi CFR-100 filter system, delivering 100 sq ft of effective filtration area through a high-pleat-count Reemay nonwoven polyester media pack. Dimensional specifications conform to the Jacuzzi CFR-Series form factor: 8.5-inch OD, 3.0-inch ID, and 23.3125-inch overall length, with molded ABS end caps configured open-top/closed-bottom for top-load manifold seating on the OEM standpipe assembly. The element is constructed on a heavy-wall perforated polypropylene core for axial rigidity under sustained operating loads, with nominal filtration efficiency rated at 20 microns under standard test conditions. Maximum continuous service temperature is 104°F; operating pressure range supports residential and light commercial circulation systems up to 50 PSI.
Service interval recommendation: rinse at 4–6 week intervals or upon ΔP rise of 8–10 PSI above clean-filter operating baseline, whichever occurs first. Chemical degreasing soak (TSP solution or commercial enzyme cleaner) is recommended every 3–6 months to remove oils and organic loading that resist water rinsing. Annual replacement is recommended for standard residential bather loads; document replacement date and pressure baseline at installation for accurate ΔP trend tracking. Chemical compatibility: continuous service at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine; muriatic acid wash at 1:20 dilution acceptable for calcium scale remediation (20-minute maximum immersion, thorough freshwater rinse required); enzyme cleaners compatible without restriction. Post-installation, verify housing pressure stabilizes at clean-filter baseline and inspect manifold seating before returning the system to full operation.
