Overview
The Unicel FG-1003 is a complete DE filter grid manifold assembly engineered as a direct replacement component for Hayward Pro-Grid and ProSeries-style DE filter housings utilizing the DEX3600 grid family. The manifold serves as the upper collection header that mates to the individual filter grids, channeling filtered effluent from each grid sector into the system return port via a centrally located standpipe interface. Construction is injection-molded polypropylene with integrated grid receiver ports, designed to maintain dimensional stability under sustained operating pressures up to 50 PSI and continuous service temperatures to 104°F. Port geometry and standpipe seating tolerances are held to OEM specification for confirmed leak-free assembly without DE blowback into the return line. The manifold is chemically inert to standard pool water chemistry and compatible with all DE recharge media and slurry-application service procedures.
Service interval: the manifold is a structural component with service life typically matching or exceeding the surrounding grid set; replacement is indicated during full grid set overhaul (annual disassembly inspection) or upon visible cracking, port distortion, or evidence of DE bypass into the pool indicating manifold seal failure. Installation procedure: verify all grid ports seat fully into the manifold receivers prior to standpipe insertion; confirm standpipe O-ring is intact and lubricated with silicone-based pool lubricant (petroleum lubricants prohibited); torque tank band clamp per OEM specification and pressure-test at clean operating baseline before returning to service. Chemical compatibility: polypropylene construction tolerates continuous service at unrestricted free chlorine levels, bromine sanitization, and muriatic acid wash procedures (1:20 dilution) used for calcium scale removal from grid sets. Enzyme cleaners compatible without restriction. Standard Unicel 90-day manufacturing defect warranty applies through authorized distribution.
