The Unicel C-7676 is a pleated polyester cartridge filter element providing 75.0 sq ft of filtration area for medium-capacity residential and light commercial pool installations. Construction features Reemay nonwoven polyester media at nominal 20-micron filtration efficiency, ABS injection-molded end caps in a closed-bottom, open-top configuration, and a Schedule-40 PVC center core for axial rigidity under sustained operating pressure. The element is rated for continuous service up to 104°F and operating pressures to 25 PSI, with end cap bond chemistry suited to standard pool water sanitizer regimes. Pleat geometry is optimized for low clean-state ΔP, supporting full pump head curve utilization across the rated flow range.
Service interval recommendation: residential installations — rinse every 4–6 weeks or at 8 PSI ΔP rise above clean-filter baseline; chemical soak with TSP or enzyme cleaner every 3–6 months to remove oils and organic film resistant to rinsing. Replace annually or at ΔP ≥ 10 PSI above clean baseline, whichever occurs first. Chemical compatibility: polyester media and ABS end caps tolerate continuous service at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine; muriatic acid soak at 1:20 dilution (20 minutes maximum exposure) is compatible for calcium scale remediation, limited to once per season. Enzyme cleaners compatible without restriction. Post-installation, verify clean operating pressure against system baseline and confirm O-ring seating at the housing closure before returning the system to full circulation.
