The Unicel C-4607 is a pleated polyester cartridge filter element engineered for above-ground pool circulation systems, providing replacement-grade filtration in compact-housing applications typical of Coleco and Intex pump/filter assemblies. The element features a 7.0-inch OD, 1.5-inch ID, and 8.0-inch overall length, with media constructed from Reemay-class nonwoven polyester fabric configured in a pleat pack for maximized surface area within the compact form factor. End cap construction is ABS injection-molded in an open-top, open-bottom configuration for through-flow installation on a standpipe-style manifold. The element is rated for residential above-ground pool operating conditions: continuous service up to 104°F and operating pressures within the 8–15 PSI range characteristic of low-head circulation pumps. Nominal filtration efficiency falls within the 20–30 micron range under standard test conditions, appropriate for above-ground pool turbidity targets.
Service interval recommendation for above-ground pool applications: rinse with fresh water every 1–2 weeks during active swim season; chemical soak (dilute TSP or enzyme cleaner) every 4–6 weeks to address oils, sunscreen residue, and organic loading. Replace at ΔP ≥ 5 PSI above clean-filter baseline, or on a seasonal cycle (once per pool season minimum), whichever occurs first. Above-ground pool elements typically require more frequent replacement than in-ground equivalents due to higher bather-to-volume ratios and elevated organic loading. Chemical compatibility: polyester fabric and ABS end caps tolerate continuous operation at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine; muriatic acid soak at 1:20 dilution compatible for calcium scale (20-minute maximum exposure, followed by thorough fresh-water rinse); enzyme cleaners compatible without restriction.
