Overview
The Unicel C-5626 is a pleated polyester spa filter cartridge engineered for Marquis Spas circulation systems, providing 25.0 sq ft of filtration area through a nonwoven polyester media pack with nominal 15-micron filtration efficiency. The element features molded ABS end caps in a closed-bottom, open-top configuration with a 2-1/8-inch top opening for standpipe seating; outer diameter measures 5-15/16 inches, with an overall length of 9-1/4 inches. Construction includes a perforated polypropylene inner core for axial rigidity under spa pump pressure loading (typical 5–15 PSI operating range). Maximum rated continuous service temperature is 115°F, with intermittent excursions to 120°F within manufacturer tolerance. End cap bond chemistry is formulated for sustained exposure to standard spa water chemistry without delamination.
Spa cartridge service intervals run accelerated relative to pool applications due to elevated bather load per gallon and continuous high-temperature operation. Recommended service cycle: fresh-water rinse every 2–4 weeks; chemical soak in dilute TSP or enzyme degreaser every 4–6 weeks to remove body oils, lotions, and surfactant residue that resist rinsing alone. Replacement is recommended at 12-month intervals for typical residential spa use, or sooner when ΔP rises ≥ 5 PSI above clean-filter baseline. Chemical compatibility: polyester media and ABS end caps tolerate continuous service at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine or ≤ 30 ppm total bromine; muriatic acid soak at 1:20 dilution is compatible for calcium scale removal (20-minute maximum exposure, rinse thoroughly). Enzyme cleaner compatible without restriction. Standard Unicel 90-day manufacturer’s defect warranty applies through authorized distribution.
